Pyrolox is a naturally mined ore containing manganese dioxide used for the removal of iron, manganese and hydrogen sulfide. The Pyrolox granular media acts as a catalyst that oxidizes iron, manganese and hydrogen sulfide as soon as they come in contact with the media. An additional pretreatment with air, chlorine, potassium permanganate is recommended in some cases.
